NYLON
...is one of the most well-known synthetic fibers. For years it has been considered the benchmark of carpet fibers. Nylon has a very well-established reputation of being a strong fiber with high resiliency (the ability to bounce back after becoming flattened or compacted). Nylon is generally less stain resistant, but traditionally wears better than other fibers. Nylon is also recyclable.

POLYESTER
...also known as PET, is a very versatile fiber that has been used for a long time in carpet manufacturing. There have been many technological advancements in polyester production and as a result polyester today is more durable than it has been in the past. PET is a value fiber. It costs less to produce, but may not wear as well as other fibers. A big advantage of polyester is its inherent stain resistance. PET is manufactured using recycled materials.

TRIEXTA
...sold under the brand name SmartStrand, is the newest addition to the carpet fiber family. It is also known as PTT. While many view triexta as the equivalent of polyester, there are in fact several differences between the two fibers – primarily that triexta is more resilient than conventional polyester. Generally, triexta is also much softer than polyester. Triexta is manufactured with plant based renewable resources. Triexta has wear warranties that are similar to Nylon, combined with the stain resistance of PET.
